{"id":34565,"title":"Ayuda en Acci\u00f3n, at the XIII OAS Congress on Children and Migration","type":"actualidad","template":"","content":"On October 24, Antonio Josu\u00e9 D\u00edaz, Ayuda en Acci\u00f3n's expert on children's issues, participated as a guest panelist in the <strong>XIII Pan American Congress of OAS Member States<\/strong>. The event, held in El Salvador and organized by the Inter-American Children's Institute (INN-OAS), is one of the most important forums in the Americas for planning public policies on children's issues. D\u00edaz spoke on the promotion and protection of the rights of children and adolescents in contexts of human mobility.\r\n\r\nDuring his participation, Antonio Josu\u00e9 D\u00edaz, who was joined by staff from Ayuda en Acci\u00f3n's national office in El Salvador, shared some of the preliminary conclusions and recommendations of a report on which Ayuda en Acci\u00f3n is collaborating thith the INN-OAS. This report, which is still being worked on, includes an analysis of existing public policies in the region and offers <strong>recommendations to improve the protection of children's rights in contexts of mobility<\/strong>.\r\n<h2>Migration is a human right<\/h2>\r\nIn his presentation, D\u00edaz emphasized that migration, although often perceived as a challenge, can be a transformative experience with a positive and lasting impact. \u201cMigration is an opportunity for children and adolescents to access new knowledge and deploy their talents. Migration is a human right, let us never forget that,\u201d he stressed during his speech.\r\n\r\nHe also called on the States of the region to act urgently to protect children's rights: \u201cWe face an enormous and complex challenge, but we have the instruments, the capacities and the will to address it in an exemplary manner. The Americas are a territory of present and future, of hope and prosperity.
