Our work in Mali

This program promote sustainable economic development and job creation in the Sahel. The program aims to increase economic opportunities and job creation for women and youth, and improve food security for vulnerable populations by supporting high potential value chains. The objective is to strengthen all value chain processes and their various links: production, processing and marketing, in order to consolidate additional sustainable sources of income and, at the same time, create employment opportunities for youth and women. The program uses an inclusive market systems development approach, supporting initiatives such as the organization and structuring of sector agents, the involvement of universities to encourage the development of business creation initiatives for young people, vocational training, the development of market niches (mainly organic and fair trade markets), the involvement of the private sector and research. In addition, the promotion of agricultural techniques and innovative approaches to climate change.

Since 2019, we have responded to all major humanitarian crises in the areas of drought, floods, conflict, forced displacement and the covid-19 pandemic. By focusing on direct intervention, we contributed to restoring livelihoods and integrating child protection, gender-based violence prevention and equal opportunities.
