In Guatemala, we began our first actions with a strategic focus on long-term development programs in November 2016 in the departments of Zacapa and Chiquimula. Later, we continued to expand our work in other areas of the country, mainly along the border, to address the humanitarian crisis resulting from the massive flows of migrants to the United States.
Women and young people improve their quality of life, become empowered and start their business.
Migrants access humanitarian services for protection and temporary accommodation.
Children had access to quality, inclusive and equitable education.
We generate new opportunities and intercultural solidarity networks, facilitating inclusive, quality education that enables a transition to employment and entrepreneurship.
We support communities and individuals to reduce the vulnerability of their livelihoods, recognizing the urgency of addressing environmental and social challenges to ensure real and lasting development. We promote a transition to a green economy with more sustainable energy models.
We support people affected by humanitarian crises, as well as forcibly displaced persons, to turn migration into development opportunities. We protect their rights and facilitate their full socioeconomic integration.
