Ayuda en Acción, together with the Organization of American States (OAS), is launching the AI in Education Hackathon. This is a regional initiative aimed at teachers, educational institutions, and civil society organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through this initiative, we seek to identify, share, and strengthen experiences that integrate artificial intelligence in a pedagogically sound, ethical, and inclusive manner.
The initiative is part of the work we at Ayuda en Acción are carrying out on artificial intelligence, youth employability, and inclusion, with a special focus on the most vulnerable communities. From this perspective, we encourage technological transformation to expand educational and employment opportunities, rather than exacerbate inequalities. This work connects knowledge generation with concrete solutions and real-world applications in Spain and Latin America.
Artificial Intelligence for a more inclusive education
The AI in Education hackathon was created as a regional space for gathering, learning, and collective creation regarding the use of artificial intelligence in education. Its purpose is to promote solutions to real problems in the educational field and generate shared knowledge that can guide new practices in the region.
While some discourse focuses solely on the risks or is overly complacent, at Ayuda en Acción we believe that artificial intelligence can open up new opportunities for education, vocational training, and employment—provided it is used with ethical standards, a critical eye, and attention to existing inequalities.
Artificial intelligence can become a key tool for expanding educational and employment opportunities, especially for vulnerable youth. For this reason, we support this initiative as an opportunity to promote an inclusive and pedagogical use of AI, strengthen teaching capacities, and bring educational innovation to those who need it most. In a context of rapid technological transformation, at Ayuda en Acción we are committed to promoting the responsible, inclusive, and learning-oriented integration of AI into education.
The ultimate goal of this type of collaboration is for technology to help reduce gaps—not widen them—and to facilitate smoother transitions for young people into the labor market.
