Our work in Mozambique

Since 2006, Ayuda en Acción Mozambique has been working on empowering communities, fostering resilience, and driving sustainable change. Working in Maputo and Cabo Delgado, we focus on economic opportunities, education, climate resilience, food security, and humanitarian response to support those most at risk.

We prioritize locallyled development, collaborating with grassroots organizations, governments, and global donors to ensure lasting impact and self-reliance. As part of Alliance2015, we leverage collective expertise, innovative solutions, and global partnerships to scale impact, transform systems, and build a more just and equitable future for all.

Economic opportunities & value chains

We create pathways to economic inclusion by promoting market-driven solutions, sustainable value chains, and entrepreneurship. Our interventions focus on vocational training, job placement, and financial inclusion, ensuring vulnerable populations—especially youth and women—have access to stable, dignified livelihoods. We collaborate with local enterprises, cooperatives, and financial institutions to strengthen inclusive markets, improve agricultural productivity, and enhance fisheries and rural economies, particularly in humanitarian settings where livelihoods have been disrupted.

Humanitarian response & social cohesion

We are committed to saving lives, restoring dignity, and building long-term resilience for refugees, migrants, and internally displaced people (IDPs). Our first line response ensures safe shelter, food security, WASH, and protection, while our long-term strategies focus on livelihood recovery, social cohesion, and durable solutions. Through locally led partnerships and community driven approaches, we work to rebuild lives, strengthen local capacity, and foster peaceful co-existence between displaced and host communities.

Climate resilience & sustainability

We provide communities with the tools to adapt to climate change through climate-smart agriculture, sustainable resource management, and disaster risk reduction. Our interventions integrate green energy, regenerative agriculture, and resilience-building strategies that protect fragile ecosystems and biodiversity. By working with farmers, fisher folk, and local leaders, we help ensure sustainable food production, secure water sources, and enhance environmental protection—key elements for long-term sustainability and resilience against climate shocks.

Education & youth empowerment

We believe education is the key for transformation. Our programs increase access, improve quality, and ensure continuity for children and youth, especially in crisis-affected communities. We strengthen educational infrastructure, teacher training, and community engagement, while integrating life skills, vocational training, and digital literacy to prepare young people for the future workforce. Through gender-sensitive approaches, we work to prevent school dropouts, promote girls’ education, and create safe learning environments that empower youth as drivers of social and economic change.
