Jorge Cattaneo, who has served as Ayuda en Acción's Deputy General Manager for the past eight years, assumes the position of General Manager on an interim basis. In a transitional phase, this ensures the stability and continuity of the organization's projects and its commitment to the fight against poverty and inequality.
With more than 17 years of experience in Ayuda en Acción, Cattaneo has been a key figure in the transformation and evolution of the organization. Since joining in 2007, he has led key strategic initiatives such as digital and organizational transformation and the promotion of social innovation. His contribution has been essential in consolidating the organization's vision for the future of social action.
Since the beginning of his career, Cattaneo has been committed to the social sector, having started as a volunteer in the early days of Engineers Without Borders and collaborating with other humanitarian organizations such as the Sisters of Charity - Calcutta. Throughout his career, he has also been part of sectoral initiatives such as the Group that created the Transparency and Good Governance tool of the La Coordinadora, the Spanish Development NGO Platform (CONGDE), or the Foundations Fund. At the international level, he has been a member of the Executive Board of the network of European organizations Alliance2015, of which Ayuda en Acción has been a member since 2018.
He also has a solid academic background: he graduated in Business Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid, holds a Master's Degree in Auditing from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, and a Master's Degree in Digital Business from ISDI. Before joining Ayuda en Acción, he worked in the technology and business consulting sector, leading projects in areas such as telecommunications, media and construction. This experience has been key to drive projects in alignment with the CSR strategies of companies such as Google, Deloitte and Inditex, and with international cooperation policies and instruments of the AECID or the European Social Fund. He has also been a key driving force behind initiatives such as Boosting Opportunities, where he is currently a Board Member.
Within Ayuda en Acción, he has held responsibilities in different positions, but has always been focused on driving the development of innovative programs. Under his leadership, the Foundation launched programs in Spain and Portugal, in addition to strengthening the organization's international expansion in African regions, thus reinforcing our global impact.
Thus, Ayuda en Acción reinforces its commitment to innovation, transparency and global action to build a fairer and more inclusive world.
